Fou Jewellery is a unique brand with a focus on fascinating textures and forms found in nature, exuding an unusual and gothic aesthetic.
The collections have been created using traditional jewellery making techniques alongside cutting-edge technology.
By combining these contrasting production methods, Fou Jewellery hopes to create contemporary, elegant, and stylish jewellery for both men and women.
Fou Jewellery is based in Birmingham's vibrant creative quarter, at the innovative and creative hub,
The Custard Factory.
All of the Fou Jewellery products are created and finished by founder Cassandra Bassett in her small jewellery studio.
Cassandra first discovered her passion for jewellery making whilst traveling in 2006.
She spent 6 months in New York, where she gained work experience with a wonderful Brooklyn based jewellery designer.
Cassandra then spent the next 6 years in Birmingham's historic jewellery quarter, obtaining an HND in Jewellery and Silversmithing, a BA (hons) in Jewellery Design for Industry, and working as a laser technician at a local jewellers.
In her final year of studying, Cassandra was taught to create innovative pieces of jewellery using modern Computer-Aided-Design software (CAD), which she now uses alongside traditional jewellery making techniques, to create many of the Fou Jewellery products featured in the current collections.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world and her surroundings, Cassandra challenges herself to create collections which are thoughtful and engaging, and made to the highest standard possible.
